About Anna
Anna MacLean is a Paris-based legal structuring consultant with a focus on startups and growing SMEs. She holds a Master’s degree in Economic Law from Sciences Po Paris and a Bachelor’s degree in French and German Literatures from Bowdoin College (USA). After starting her career in M&A with top Paris law firms, she joined a venture capital firm, deepening her understanding of startup dynamics and investor expectations. She also served as Head of Legal for a group of startups, gaining hands-on experience with the legal and operational challenges faced by young companies.
Today, Anna works independently to support founders and leadership teams before they bring on in-house legal counsel. Her services include compliance audits, the implementation of tailored processes based on best practices, and long-term legal structuring support. She helps companies prepare for and navigate key milestones—such as fundraising, management transitions, or international expansion—by ensuring legal strategies are both cost-efficient and business-aligned. She also acts as a bridge with external counsel, helping decision-makers refine and express their legal needs for greater efficiency and impact.
